Origin:
The breed of Coton de Tulear is a small-sized dog, and this breed was named after a city called Tulear or Toliara in Madagascar. They are believed to have originated from a white dog group that was thought to swim across the Malagasy channel following an unfortunate shipwreck incident.
Size:
Coton de Tulear dogs do not generally grow more than 8.2 kgs or 18 pounds. A male dog can grow up to a height of 9.8 inches to 11.8 inches or 25 cm to 30 cm. if it is a female dog, it can grow up to a height of 8.7 inches to 10.6 inches or 22 cm to 27 cm.
The weight of this breed ranges from 8.8 lbs to 13.2 lbs or 4 kgs to 6kgs if it is a male. And the body weight of this breed ranges from 7.7 lbs to 11.0 lbs or 3.5 kgs to 5 kgs if it is a female.
