Cheagle
Cheagle
The Cheagle is a cross of the Chihuahua and the Beagle dog breeds, making it a hybrid dog. Regarding their personality, these puppies are a cross between the most significant traits of their parents. There are a variety of names for Cheagles, including Beagle Chi, Chi-Bea, and the Beagle Chihuahua hybrid.
Origin
Designer dogs like the Cheagle, a cross between the Beagle from England and the spirited Chihuahua from Mexico, are trendy. Playful and affectionate, the result is a little creature who likes accompanying its owner everywhere they go.
Size
This breed is so young that there aren’t any established norms for its size. Because they are a cross between a Chihuahua and a Beagle, Cheagles tend to be on the smaller side.
Most are between 20 and 30 pounds and 9 and 14 inches tall at the shoulder, depending on the breed. According to which parent’s genes are more dominant, some might be smaller or bigger.
Coat
Cheagles have a short, lustrous coat that sheds about as much as other dogs of their breed. To keep this breed’s shedding under control, regular brushing is advised. This breed has a wide range of colors, depending on the parents. White, black, cream and tan are the most common hues seen in Cheagles. However, solid coloring is conceivable. Many Cheagles have Beagle face markings, but not all.
Temperament
The Cheagle is a hybrid of its parents’ personalities. Like the Chihuahua, it is outgoing and exuberant. Family-oriented like the Beagle, it’s full of energy. Children will enjoy playing with this dog. To be safe, it’s best suited for youngsters old enough to handle a pet (these are very fragile pups who need to be treated gently). Cheagles are generally docile. However, they are known for their tendency to bark. To prevent this from becoming a long-term problem, begin training early and often.
Dogs, notably Chihuahuas, are prone to aggression from Cheagles, and socialization at a young age helps to avoid this nasty tendency. Bold and playful, the breed enjoys romping about and running.
Care
You should take your Cheagle to the vet regularly to ensure no health issues. When caring for your dog, you should consult your veterinarian.
This breed is susceptible to overeating and has a high level of energy. Your dog must receive at least one long walk each day, a couple of lovely, energetic play sessions, and shorter hikes.
Ensure their ears are free of dirt and vermin and clean them according to your veterinarian’s instructions. Trim your dog’s nails regularly to prevent them from becoming too long. If you hear them clicking, you’re doing something wrong. This is something that your groomer can assist you with.
You should be most concerned with your Cheagle’s dental health while caring for them. If your pet is a little breed, you should wash their teeth daily.
Health
Considering that the Cheagle is a cross between the Beagle and Chihuahua, its health issues are a mix of both breeds. Like many petite breeds, the Cheagle has a higher risk of bone issues and hypoglycemia. Always visit your veterinarian regularly to ensure that any potential health concerns are promptly diagnosed and addressed.
